(Grand Cayman – 21 February 2011) Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited announced today that the 19th annual St. Patrick's Day 5K Irish Jog will take place on Thursday, March 17th, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at the Britannia Golf Course, located at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites.
Participants will receive a T-shirt and are eligible to win one of several fabulous spot prizes, including sunset sails, dinners for two and spa services. Wear the “oldest” Irish Jog T-shirt for an extra chance to win a prize. There will be free hats, face stickers, wigs and other fun wear for everyone. Complimentary food and refreshments will be available after the event. For the safety of all participants, roller blades, roller skates and pets are not allowed on the course.
“It’s hard to believe that we are embarking on our 19th year of celebrating the Irish Jog, which is a wonderful way in which we give back to the local community,” said Butterfield’s Rebecca Ebanks. “The Irish Jog has become Cayman’s most anticipated fun run/walk for charity, attracting hundreds of local and overseas participants, and we are especially pleased to be able to donate 100 percent of the proceeds to a local charity each year.”
The entry fee is just CI $10 per person and all proceeds will be donated to the Lighthouse School. Registration starts Monday, March 14th – Tuesday, March 15th at Butterfield House on Fort Street from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and will continue at Grand Cayman Beach Suites on Wednesday, March 16th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. On the day of the jog, Thursday, March 17th, registration will commence at 12noon at Grand Cayman Beach Suites by the Britannia golf course.
