Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited has continued its support of Cayman sports by once more becoming a major sponsor of the youth football team Tigers Football Club. This will be the sixth consecutive year Butterfield has signed on with Tigers, becoming the sole gold sponsor of the Under-13 team with an initial investment of $2,500.

According to team organizers, it has been a great year for Tigers football with the team hosting the Honduras Under-20 national team and several high-profile CIFA events including the visit of football legend Romario. Tigers also participated as ball boys in the under-20 world cup qualifying match. On top of continuing to build their game, the team performed several community service projects including their annual Earth Day clean-up and school-based volunteer activities.

“Congratulations to Tigers Football Club for yet another year of achievement, community work and leadership,” Butterfield Bank’s Searlina Bodden commented. “Butterfield Bank is delighted to be a part of their continued growth.”

“Butterfield Bank’s continued patronage allows us to continue assisting Cayman youth to achieve something out of life through football. Fitness, technical skills and an enjoyable experience are just some of the things that the kids gain from our club,” said Walter Hernandez, Club President.
