Butterfield Strengthens Asset Management Teams

Dennis brings over 30 years international financial services experience with many years spent in strategic and leadership roles in the investment banking and wealth management fields. Dennis joined the Butterfield Group in August 2009 as the Head of Investment Management, Bahamas to lead the strategic positioning and launch of a start-up private client investment management business.   Prior appointments include Director Wealth Management, Bahamas and Turks and Caicos FirstCaribbean International Bank where Dennis was responsible for transitioning the international business to a broad Private Banking and Wealth Management offering, as well as CEO, London, Raiffeisen Zentral Bank, Austria, where he built a fully integrated investment banking /capital markets business.


Michael has nearly 25 years’ experience in financial services, having held senior roles in wealth management client services and business development functions. He began his career at Chemical Bank’s Private Banking Group. Michael led the implementation of global sales and client relationship management (CRM) policies and processes at Citibank before leaving the firm to establish AnswerSpace Inc., a CRM and financial planning consultancy, in 1998. In 2001, he founded Monetaire Inc., a leading provider of financial planning and advice software that was acquired by RiskMetrics Group in 2004. At RiskMetrics, Michael served as Global Head of Wealth Management, Global Head of Client Implementations, Global Head of Client Services and Co-Head of Global Business Risk.


As Head of Butterfield Asset Management in Bermuda, Michael has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Butterfield Group’s portfolio/fund management, discretionary management and research functions across Bermuda, Cayman, Guernsey and the United Kingdom.
