Our History and Background

Butterfield in the Cayman Islands was incorporated in 1967 under the laws of the Cayman Islands and is
a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bank of N. T. Butterfield & Son Limited.

For over 40 years, satisfying our customers has been our top priority. We provide a comprehensive range
of services to local and international markets, including private, commercial and institutional clients. To
deliver the best and most up-to-date financial products, we spend time getting to know our clients and
their business requirements.

Client relationships are managed by professional, well-trained teams that understand quality of service is
a key consideration when choosing a financial service institution. We meet clients and their advisors face-
to-face, better strengthening our understanding of their current and future requirements.

Institutional clients benefit from our extensive experience and position as a market leader in the areas of
administered banks and trust companies, as well as third-party fund administration services.

Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited holds a class “A” Bank and Trust Companies Licence under the Banks
and Trust Companies Law of the Cayman Islands and a Mutual Fund Administrators Licence under the
Mutual Funds Law of the Cayman Islands. We are regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority,
and shares of our parent company are listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange with a secondary listing on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.

Our Mission

Butterfield will provide consistent and superior returns to our shareholder, offer security and opportunities
to our employees, and be recognised as making a valuable contribution to the communities in which we
operate by a customer focused, efficient and ethical delivery of banking and other selected financial
